Together with Urban Connector and behavioural change specialist Fran Bambust (7E model), Endeavour investigated the behaviour in compact housing in Flanders.
The aim is to understand positive experiences of people living compactly in order to communicate an alternative living ideal to the dominant prevailing living ideal of spaciously dispersed living.
The study included five cases from very urban to rural. Different residential environments with various compact housing typologies. Through open and friendly workshops, we learned about the experiences of the residents.
From these experiences we built new stories focused on breaking points (e.g. family expansion) that lead to choices for a compact home.
In addition, we made images of compact living environments based on true stories of people. You can find the full research report here.
